I was reading this article, and what people posted after the article, and I was just wondering what is the best thing to use to collect garbage? I am somwhat ruthless about recycling (our city makes it very easy – you just throw all of the acceptable things into a cart). I usually take my own bags to the store when shopping, because I hate plastic bags, that is not somthing new, I have always hated them. Anyhow, to get to the point. I do all of this stuff, and make my family do it, but we still put our garbage in plastic garbage bags. I am thinking that they take a long time to break up. So I would appreciate hearing what everyone else does.
Does anyone have an alternative? Paper is one alternative, but it seems like it would get really messy.
I see more and more poor people everyday, their clothes look nasty and dirty when they go into the wal-mart, it’s really a shame. I see people pushing shopping carts with garbage bags in them, and they look dirty looking too. Is this their fault, for not hustling hard enough to make a better life for themselves? My main question though is what is going to have all these poor people in America? Please don’t answer with…"What about them?" The numbers are growing, and gas prices are hurting spending badly.

I am 61 and no longer able to carry bags of 2 liter soda and other heavy items. It would be a great help if I could put these things in a cart and roll it up some stairs. I have been looking for some time but cannot find a retail store that sells them. Online yes, retail no. Any assistance provided would be greatly appreciated.
Here’s my ideal scenario: After grocery shopping, I pull a collapsible shopping cart out of the trunk of my car, load it up with everything I bought, and take it onto the elevator and up to my studio in one trip.
Instead, I’m making several trips on the elevator, up and down NINE FLOORS, carrying whatever I can bear on my arms (which is just as much as those lame little carts can carry, about 4 heavy bags). I don’t know about most people, but I do a monthly shopping trip, sometimes bi-weekly.
Do you know of anything I can use that:
- is collapsible and will fit in the trunk of a sedan
- can hold the weight of about 20 bags of groceries
- can roll over the jagged gravel surrounding my building (not a must, but a plus)?
I was wondering if I always should use a plastic bag for each of the vegetables I buy at the supermarket. For instance, If I buy 1 tomato, 1 onion, and 1 green pepper, should I place them in 3 separate plastic bags before buying?
I know if they are priced by weight they shouldn’t be in a bag together.
I don’t want to have them just sitting in a germy cart, but it seems like I’m using too much plastic.
Thanks for advice

Lambert “Legal Affairs Professional & Hist… (TN, USA) I have gone through a few golf bags the past few years in search of the “ultimate” bag. With the OGIO Syncro cart bag, I think I might have found it! The Syncro is aesthetically appealing, with attractive color schemes and interesting designs that really make the bag stand out on the course. Of course, many bags offer that but there’s something unique about these designs that you don’t see in your typical bag offerings. I was very pleased to see that the bag was …
There is a bum in front of our building on the side walk blocking the whole way with his bags and shopping carts. He’s just lying there. And he won’t move if I ask him to do so as a courtesy to us. He said it’s legal for him to do.
This is really annoying and obstructing our business. Can’t I just force him to go away? He’s annoying.

I have a small retail store, and I am looking to purchase shopping carts. I like the ones like they have at Kohl’s with the bags in them instead of being all plastic. They are smaller than a normal shopping cart from the grocery, and they have a bag inside.
